i am a freelance graphic designer with nearly 20 years in the business. i have worked in service bureaus, as a plate maker as well as design and layout. i initially began work as a production artist for a company that imprinted promotional items on a variety of substrates, so that in addition to getting it “right” it had to work on leather, polypropylene, plastic, cloth or metal, depending on the product. i worked in the camera room (that’s how we changed the size of something before computers came to our aid) as well as the production room. when the art director left the company i decided to push my boundaries. i became responsible for the department’s standards and work load, as well as our annual catalogs.

for the last decade i have focused primarily on efforts that promote social & environmental awareness and political action. it is my hope that each of us leave this remarkable planet better off than when we arrived.

i am intrigued by what makes effective communication, in a variety of ways:  graphics, art, poetry and written word.

i have a mobile office and can work from virtually anywhere, although i am located in Sacramento.
